What is directx sdk?

what is directx sdk? and why its called sdk when its not work like development kit program like android sdk?

It is an SDK. Those libraries can be pulled into an IDE once it is installed and used in development.

Kind of a moot point since it is part of Windows.

Found this, looks like they merged it with the Windows SDK at some point.
