I have xfx gt 220 ddr2. When i run gpu z it says 400mhz memory speed. But when i go (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150446) Here it says 800mhz.. Is my card faulty? If not am i running 400mhz or 800mhz?

Solution

No, it is essentially saying the exact same thing, just describing it differently. One describes the actual frequency while the other describes the data rate that is based on the frequency. Think of it more like describing something in different units like inches or feet (example, an object that is 24" is 2') rather than different performance descriptions.

So will there be a difference betwoeen real and effective?

In terms of processing am i running at 800 or 400mhz? I mean when i do gaming..

what should i consider when gaming? memory frequency or data transfer?

I still don't think you are quite getting it... they both describe the exact same thing. It's just a different rating.
