I see a program called xpexplorer in my Win10 task manager/startup folder. Apparently running in the background all the time. When I Google for what it is, I find results pointing to a 3rd party app called xpexplorer.exe. Is that what it is? Is Microsoft using a 3rd party app for their W10 file explorer?

And why is it still called XP?

Solution
Nope. Have you looked for any programs installed in Control Panel/Programs and Features that you don't recognize?

Also, have you scanned for malware recently?

OK. Thanks for that info. I just ran Malwarebytes and it didn't find anything. I would have run Win built-in Virus app to do an off-line scan, but it appears to be disabled since I installed MB. (That didn't used to happen)

Update: I just found out what it belongs to. A pgm called XPE Windows 10 DPI Fix that I installed to change the size of icons, text, apps, etc. Problem solved.
User error! Please mark this solved. Thank you.
