What is going on with my monitor?

Hey I just bought a 22 inch acer monitor for my new computer set up, but my graphics card is old (evga nvidia 7900)

After I formatted my hard drive and the like, I attempted to change the resolution on the new screen, to which my screen just becomes a crazy green mess of vibrating/patterned green colors.

Then I also tried setting up dual monitors using my old monitor, and that causes the same effect, on both monitors.

Could somebody tell me exactly what is causing this? It's really agitating that I can't even dual monitor, much less change my resolutions.

Your monitors are fine but your video card driver needs to be updated or reinstall, it may not installed properly. Do not use upated driver from microsoft.
