Ok so here is quite the story I've had

On Feb 2nd I bought a mobo and cpu (I5 3570, Asus p8z77 v lx) combo, being the dingus I am ,i did not take the proper safety percautions, and when installing my cpu I felt a small zap

Needless to say, after plugging in everything I got no post on my motherboard.

However, after getting a new motherboard(gigabyte b75m-d3h), my pc got into the bios, and even into windows (since this was just an upgrade) however, after about one minute of using my computer it would freeze.

Now my friend told me that since it was the same install of windows, that I should wipe my drives and re-install

After nuking my drives, the same thing is happening. Windows will freeze whenever I try to do something on it. I also have gotten two windows errors
MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION
CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT

Just please help me out. My CPU seller gives me a 30 day warranty on it, which covers general hardware failure (what?) I will cooperate and I just really want to use my computer. I have general hardware knowledge so please don't treat me like a child, this is my 3rd pc build

To me it sounds like you shorted your cpu. I don't know much about hardware shorting out and if it will work or not when it is shorted but let's just say it is shorted and it won't work anymore, then you said you have that warranty and you can just say it has been doing that to you ever since you got it and you can't get it to stay booted in windows. then when you get the new one if it still doesn't work you will know that it is something else. but they most likely will just get you a new cpu if you tell them that it has been bugging out like that every since you got it
