Well to be fair, in the past an extra $100 or so got you moved from an i5 to an i7, which on a low end build may or may not really have been to any advantage. With these builds the extra $ gets you moved from a piddly dual core pentium to cpu that is i7 compatible, and if you could bump up to the 1600 you'd be looking at a cpu that is not only i7 equitable, but under some circumstances, blows it away. Me? I'd eat Raman noodles for a month to swing the budget in my favor and get the R5 1600.
