what is happening to my GPU

basically i have a windforce gtx 960 4GB but i get lower fps. when other people get 50 fps very high settings on 1080p i get 50 but only on high settings. on minecraft i mostly get only-100-200. i understand but thats worse than expected. other people even my friend with 950 gets higher fps. and also why do i lag in minecraft when i look at the Dome in survival games. when my friend with 950 dosent. 960 shouldnt lag cause sometimes it lags in minecraft 20 fps
