What is input lag?

sorry to ask this, but i didnt get the exact meaning when i surfed. what is input lag on mouses. i asked this because im really having a hard choice between choices

When you move your mouse, the PC is getting input from the mouse. The Input Lag is how long it takes your computer to process this input, and cause a change on the screen.

1. If choice is being determined by what manufacturer claims on its web site, well all I can say is, in many cases, these generally bear little resemblance to test results. Unfortunately few testers provide any measurements so its really hard to judge. More DPI generally means higher performance but again , these of oft inaccurate especially on lesser know brands.

3. The loose definition of lag is the time between the mouse moves and the time the movement is seen on screen
