What is intel serial IO, should I remove it?

i think its related to a touchpad driver, is this a laptop?

there isn't a lot on this driver but it ties into the Intel Serial IO I2C ES Controller. This driver might be to fix a problem that was around last year at start of win 10 when touchpads weren't working after upgrade.

It is not related to a touchpad driver. The IO driver is responsible for interconnect capability betwen the host controller and various hardware and the operating system. It is a separate but required component companion to the Intel chipset inf package for many systems.

I knew it was, but we need to correct information whenever possible IMO. If I came across it, somebody else is likely to as well so if we can refine results a little bit here and there it can't hurt.
