what is ldt frequency

what is ldt frequency that its on Intel nforce4 motherboard currently have a default setting of 4x....

I can change the value from 1x to 5x... What would be the best setting... My system is overclocked 25% Pentium 4 3.20 to 4.00 and my ram is 3-3-3-9 @ 500mhz and has a 1:1 ratio

ldt = lightning data transfer - the old name for Hypertransport.
On an nForce mobo it usually is used to connect the nb & sb.

At a rough guess I would say that you want to keep ldt multi x true* bus speed to 1000MHz or less.

*remember that Intel quad pumps it's CPU bus so that e.g. a 1066 fsb CPU is actually running 266fsb but polled 4 times a cycle.
