Solution

Ignore Vram if all you do is 1080p gaming.
A R9 280X or GTX 770 is fine for most 1080p right now with 60fps - ultra settings
A R9 290 or GTX 970 will be fine for 1440p with near 60fps at ultra settings. So for 1080p, these card will last longer.

thanks i was thinking about getting the Kingston Digital 120GB SSD they are have a 75% sale on amazon would 120 be enough

I'm looking for more fps for gaming should i upgrade to a 4gb GPU or would a 3gb be enough

Thanks a lot! The GTX 770 looks great for its price i will probably go with that one.

My Kingston SSD had horrible degradation performance issues, which may or may not affect the model you are looking at. I would go with a Crucial or a Samsung if you want reliability IMO.

The Crucial 120gb MX-100 is only cheap actually. $62 http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-MX100-2-5-Inch-Internal-CT128MX100SSD1/dp/B00KFAGD88

I would still go for the 256gb version honestly: http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-MX100-2-5-Inch-Internal-CT256MX100SSD1/dp/B00KFAGCWK/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1424808666&sr=1-1&keywords=mx+100+256

This can change VERY quickly though. Check this out: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/dying_light_vga_graphics_performance_review,9.html

I'm actually going to start recommending the r9 290 for 1080p, because games get more and more demanding all the time. The r9 280x and GTX770 aren't even on my radar anymore since the r9 290 can usually be found around the same price or just a little bit more. There is a big jump there, and now for newer titles coming out I think the r9 290 is the better 1080p card. A year ago I would of still recommended the GTX770/r9 280x.
