Question What is my bottleneck?

Hello,

I am currently using Intel I5-8600k paired with a GTX 1060 6GB.

The problem is my GPU should be weaker than my CPU however I have benchmarked on Rainbow Six Siege but only my CPU reaches 100% on all cores while my GPU stays at 80% so im quite concerned since I have just made the CPU upgrade from AMD FX-6300 which is fairly big but somehow it can not keep up with a 1060?

I am currently using ASUS ROG STRIX B360-G which I know is a stupid decision since I can not overclock but there should be no problem otherwise.

Is it a problem with my system or the CPU?

I was planning on upgrading my GPU to RTX 2070 Super since the benchmarks with those 2 are fairly good but after seeing this I am not sure.

Are you running siege at like 1080p or lower with low graphics settings? That should be the only case where you might see a 8600k holding back a 1060 in that game.

What are you using to monitor CPU usage? What are CPU temps and CPU clock speed on the individual cores under load?

I am running siege at 1080p with medium settings.

I am using MSI afterburner to monitor CPU usage, the CPU temps are around 60°C and the clockspeed is 4100mhz on all cores.

I ran a benchmark again this time on Bank and both my CPU and GPU were around 95% usage.

These are the benchmark results MSI gave me :

08-12-2019, 17:49:18 RainbowSix.exe benchmark completed, 8870 frames rendered in 71.359 s
Average framerate : 124.3 FPS
Minimum framerate : 106.6 FPS
Maximum framerate : 143.0 FPS
1% low framerate : 87.7 FPS
0.1% low framerate : 70.7 FPS

I ran a T-hunt mission on bank.

Edit:
I am trying to run Siege at around 144fps stable since i will be getting a 144hz monitor soon.
