What is my RAM speed?

Hi, I entered in BIOS and I saw that the DRAM frequency was 800MHz. My RAM says that it should be 1333MHz (4GB DDR3 1333). I tried setting it from 800 to 1333 and after starting windows, it was in low resolution and I got BSoD within 3-5 seconds.
I set it back to 800MHz, does that mean that im not running at full speed?
Below are some SS

BIOS:

Solution
If you had correctly reset your BIOS, it should have automatically applied timings listed on the SPD chip, which is 1333-9-9-9-24. Attempting to run 1333-8-6-6-18 is pushing your luck pretty hard.
Sometimes your computer might be confusing because it might misrepresent the way it presents this based on the BIOS. The way though that DDR works is that it is it DOUBLE data rate. So - according to your BIOS screen shot - it says 800mhz, while the CPUz says 400mhz real speed. So - you indeed are running at a sub-maximum speed.

Your other CPUz shots says that your RAM is PC-10600 which should equate to a maximum tested stable speed of 1333 mhz (667 actual). What you might want to do is sneak up on it if you can - there are some speeds in the JEDEC file (which you can see) which the memory does support, try sneaking up on it and see what the quickest speed it might be able to run at is. 533x2 = 1066mhz, 609x2 = 1218mhz, 666x2=1333mhz...

Remember, this is also the maximum speed the MEMORY is rated for, there is much more than this - it could be a cheap/substandard motherboard or a host of other factors which is causing the BSOD.

Notice BOTH his screen shots. CPUz says 400mhz (which is the REAL speed), 800mhz is the effective speed shown by the bios...

My mobo is an M4A89GTD PRO and im using an AMD x4 965 processor.
The cpu is slightly OC (From x17 I set it to x18)
Ill try that tomorrow.

There were 3 BSoD, 1 IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 0x0a and 2 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGE_AREA 0x50

Both PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGE_AREA are same (except parametersand time obviously)

As far as I can tell, both the motherboard and CPU support 1333MT/s DDR3 as standard/non-OC:

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M4A89GTD_PRO/
- The motherboard supports DDR3 memory that features data transfer rates of 2000(O.C.)/1333/1066 MHz

http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/processors/desktop/phenom-ii#
- Support for unregistered DIMMs up to PC2 8500(DDR2-1066MHz) and PC3 10600 (DDR3-1333MHz) – AM3

Yes they should but the Bus has to acomdate the speed - up in the screenshots the bus is at 200 which equates to 800, DRAM can't run faster than the bus. Just like the old 775 mobos the bus needed to be at 1333 (which would show as 333) to run 1333 DRAM. The capability is there but it has to be set to run at that. CPU-Z is showing correctly with 400 which does equate to DDR 800

I see what you mean. Looking at the CPUz screenshots, his FSB : DRAM ratio is set at 1:2, and since the bus is set to 200mhz, his max speed is 400mhz, which is 800mhz effective DRAM speed.

Checking my i5 laptop, it's at a 1:5 FSB/DRAM ratio, so that all plays out.

Question for the OP, did you put your settings back to all 'auto'? Setting the AI overclock tuner to 'manual' sets the default bus speed to 200 according to the manual if I'm not mistaken. Here's a suggestion, go into the 'exit' menu, and 'load setup defaults', then 'exit and save'.

See what that does.

_______________

Todays rigs are different, they use a base clock rather than a FSB, it's very different with rigs since the demise of the 775

I did set the default settings,
http://i.imgur.com/fIvJoHH.png
Its more or less, 480MHz
The thingy is that, the CPU is OC to 4.1 (Which produces A LOT of heat)
The funny thing is that once I set it to default, I went to the AI Tweaker, and it showed the DRAM frequency to 1333MHz and the CPU Frequency to 3400MHz. I went back to exit menu, selected "Save and exit" or sth like that, and Im with those settings
http://i.imgur.com/fIvJoHH.png and the BUS frequency to 240 with a 17x multiplier.

Im going back to the bios to see if I missed sth.

Ok, went back to BIOS, and sth really odd happened.
So, first of all, 4 cores were unlocked (ASUS Core unlocker enabled).
The AI overclock tuner was set to MANUAL (idk how)
The CPU target frequency was indeed at 4100MHz
The dram was indeed at 960MHz
None of these settings is what showed up when I reset the bios (before applying the changes)
I did set everything to auto afterwards
Afer setting everything auto, I had BSOD (not sure if it was bsod) just as the windows 7 logo appeared (actually 1 second after the WINDOWS text appeared)
I went back and changed everything the way it was before (Manual)
BSOD again at the same time
Went back to bios and the Bus frequency was to 240 x18 (probably my bad)
Changed that to 200
So far so good (same as it was before I created this thread)

Im really lost tbh xD
And im not sure if it did reset, or sth else happened.
