what is my true cpu speed?

I have a pentium e5200 dual core processor. when I look at my system properties for cpu it says @2.50ghz 1.90ghz. Where is the 1.90ghz coming from? is my cpu speed 2.50 or 1.90?

I would suggest using CPUID CPU-Z to check on your CPU. Or any other CPU monitoring software for that matter.

just used it i guess its 2.5 ghz then. Do you think it would be good for gaming or should I upgrade?

Depends on which games you have in mind, and wheter you have a discrete GPU or not.
