What is PCI EXPRESS 2.0 AND WHAT IS PCI Express 3.0 x16...Please clarify

I have Intel DB75EN board ..it shows

Graphics--Discrete graphics support for PCI Express 3.0 x16 add-in graphics card

Expansion capabilities--One PCI Express* 2.0 x 1 connector

What does it mean?Do i have 3.0 one or 2.0...i am going to buy a graphics card...So wants to know abt motherboard slots for graphics card

The primary PCIe x16 slot on your system is the 3.0 one. It can process more data, faster than the 2.0 slot.

That motherboard only has a single PCIe x16 slot. It is compatible with the 3.0 standard, if a 3rd generation CPU is installed (iX-3XXX). Those with the iX-2XXX are second generation and only support PCIe 2.0. PCIe support is built into the CPU.

If you look at the product brief, you can clearly see it only has the one x16 (the blue one) slot.

Your motherboard has a pci-e 2.0 16x slot. You can use any new graphics card in this slot. No graphics card REQUIRES pci-e 3.0

Yes, there is an additional PCIe x1 (little short slot between the PCIe x16 and PCI slots. Look closely at the picture and you'll see it.
