I have MACBOOK AIR 2017. My current Mac's 128 GB SSDs reading speed is 1257 MB/second and writing speed is 430 MB/second checked by "BlackMagic Disk Speed" app store app.

I wanted to upgrade the Mac's SSD from 128 GB to 512 GB so I purchased "Samsung 980 500GB Up to 3,500 MB/s PCIe 3.0 NVMe M.2" from offline store. It does not support directly to SSD socket in Mac Book Air 2017 so I also purchased it's converter "Buyyart PCI Express 2013 2014 2015 to M.2 NGFF SSD Adapter Card for Air Pro MacBook" from Amazon.

I have installed both the devices properly and also setup operating system on Mac. Everything is ok.

Then I tried to check the read / write speed this newly installed SSD. According to Amazon, speed will be approx. 3500 MB/s but unfortunately when I checked it with the same software "Black Magic Disk Speed". It shows 850 MB/s as read speed and writing speed is 550 MB/s. Both read and write speeds are very low.

Here I have a query that Is low read and write speed reason using connector between Macbook and SSD? Kindly suggest me what is the reason and how can we fix it. Thanks a lot.
