What is Rthdcpl.exe?

My wife's pc is real slow to start/close and when I go into task manager a box comes telling me Rthdcpl.exe is not running or corrupted. Just what is it and is there any free ware that will fix it?

From what I see it's a "Realtek HD Audio Sound Effect Manager" you could probably re-download it.

Re-installing drivers might fix it.
