My CPU when gaming gets to about 70-78c. I just wanted to know if these temperatures are COMPLETELY safe meaning that no harm at all is done and my CPU life will not be shortened even by a second. Please be specific! Thanks!

Specs:
i7-6700
NVIDIA GTX 970
8GB ram quad core

Pokepunk710,

Welcome to Tom's!

At the top of this Forum (CPU's) you will see "Stickies" which are a group of Guides or informative Threads that are permanently available for everyone's reference. Within this group you will see one called Intel Temperature Guide - http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1800828/intel-temperature-guide.html

The short answer to you question is yes, 78C is safe, but the "specific" information you seek is in that Guide, so please give it a read.

Thanks,
