Hello. So, I have a problem with my Hard Drive. It's filling up itself... 1 week ago, I had 2 - 3 GB free, out of 40.8. After that, It reduced itself to 100 - 50 MB and it keeps shrinking... (Note: In this 1 week, I didn't download anything and my Antivirus showed no signs of viruses.) I tried everything that the Internet says... Tried running Disc cleanup, tried removing space hungry programs - It didn't work... I really don't know what's happening, so if you guys can help me, please do. I will be very grateful.

Also, sorry for my English. I'm still student and I'm still learning it, so please bear with me.

Thank you.

Hi there Otaku_96,

Taking into consideration that the free space is shrinking really fast, I would also say that you system is most probably creating restore points.
You need to reduce the space allocated for system restore and delete previous restore points.

Here's how you can do that: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/5482/make-system-restore-use-less-space-in-windows-7/
Here's a tutorial on how to free up some more storage space: http://www.howtogeek.com/125923/7-ways-to-free-up-hard-disk-space-on-windows/

that's because windows uses that disk for system restore points.

if u want to get that space back then right click on computer and click properties, from there go to system protection.
now click on the c drive and click configure.

now you can see how much windows is using and you can also reduce the amount that windows is allowed to store in there

Try running Wiztree. It is a free utility and it will tell you what is using your hard drive space. You can then see if there is a large file or folder taking up space.

Could be system restore using it or your hibernation file or your pagefile. Those should show up on the scan as large files. Let us know if you see any of these.

BTW - when I look at this thread there is a button on the one you selected as solution to unselect it.

After almost a year of absence, I'm back.
The problem is no longer a 'problem', but if it's not too much, please tell me, can I free more space on my C: Drive? This is what WizTree gives me after running it:

How large is your C drive (or partition)?
Which OS is this?

I would run Disk Cleanup and check all options for removing files.
What size drive do you have?
Can you get us a pic of your disk management so we can see what partitions you have?

It's 40,8 GBs and I can't take a shot of it since it's in Bulgarian and I can't change it back as the other users of my PC can't deal with English. But, here, I guess this could help:

Thank you all for your solutions. :)

Edit: The pic doesn't show for some reason...
