What is taking up my hard drive??

My hard drive is 111 GB and I only have 17.2 GB freed up on it. I really wanna know what's taking up my hard drive space so I can get rid of it.

I always recommend downloading and running Windirstat as a first step. It gives a great picture of where storage is used.

Have you checked how large some of the major directories are? Maybe you just used up that much space. It's possible. Also, what OS are you using and how old is the machine? 111 GB sounds like a pretty old HDD.

111gb does not mean a old hard drive, it means its a small amount of space. It could be a 111gb hard drive made in 2016. Do you even computer bro?

First, we do not allow "necro-posting." If a thread has been inactive for four months or more, please do not post into it. It is unlikely to help the original poster, who is long gone.

Third, whatever "Do you even computer bro?" means, I probably do. And have done professionally for 40 years.

"111GB" generally means an advertised "120GB" drive.

If this is a 'hard drive', as the OP states, that is pretty small and old.
120GB spinning platters haven't been mainstream in about a decade.

Now...if the OP actually meant a "111GB" SSD, that's a different story.

However...it is generally unwise to jump straight in with a comment like "Do you even computer bro? " All you see is letters on a screen. You have zero idea of who is behind those letters, or their experience.

Most computers come with 500GB minimum these days. If it is a 120GB that would most likely lead to the fact that it is probably a much older HDD. Newegg does not sell any new 120GB HDDs and the cheapest one I could find was a $75 dollar Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 which is a very old HDD line as the last in that series was the 7200.15.

That does not even begin to matter considering that you decided to necro a thread a year old to post a snarky comment.
