What is te difference between pci express 2.1 and 2.0

in radeons 6800 and 6900 series graphics card it says to supported by pci express 2.1 and nvidia card says to be supported by pci express 2.0. but all the intel board says it supports pci express 2.0 .what is the defference betwen them?
