Solution
50 GB free isn't a whole lot but should be enough for Windows, I think the rule is that you want about 10-20% of your Hardrive space free for windows. If I were you I would do one of two things. You can probably try and clean up your hardrive, delete things you don't need, use CCleaner to clear out the cache files or various programs and Windows, and maybe run a defrag.

If your computer is several years old I would suggest a completely reformat and reinstall of windows. Its a pain since you will have to back everything up and start from scratch but you will be surprised how much fast Windows is when it's fresh. Windows 10 also has a feature called Reset which I believe you can keep your data and Windows will just reinstall itself...
It wont do either, it will just add more storage capacity for your computer.

The only time you will get a performance increase is if you increase from say a 5400 RPM to a 7200 or 10,000 RPM drive, or if you switch to a SSD (solid state drive), then you will get much faster load times.

what if my pc originally have 1 tb of space but now only left 50 gb and i feel like my pc are getting slower than previously because lack of space. Does add more space will make it faster like previous??

Installing a second working hard drive would not slow down or affect your system performance, it would allow you to transfer non system documents and larger or smaller files onto the second drive as storage container and free up more space from your system drive which will be performing much better.
