What is the average Thunderbird 1200 Temp

Just installed a thunderbird 1200 with a Chrome Orb (with thermal paste). The temperature shows 50C. Is this normal? What is the max temp?

Is that idle or full load? What case fans do you have?

Typically, orbs suck. Hard.
I have a slot fan (? CFM) and a 43 CFM intake fan, with a ThermoEngine on my CPU. The ThermoEngine has a Delta Black Label 7000 RPM fan on it. My idle temp is around 28c. Once I get my three other case fans in there, I should be doing well.

AMD says 90C, however the consensus on this board seems to be that 60C should be about the max. I was running around 60 with the retail hsf, but my case was not venting properly. I now have an OCZ Gladiator and properly vented case and chip is 45C (ambient 27C).
PS. OC'd to 1250 (100x12.5 - max for K7T Turbo)

noko:
Yeah, 28c is great, but I haven't started overclocking yet. I said in my last post how many fans I have (1 slot fan, 1 intake fan). Once I start overclocking, I'll want all the cool I can get :)

HarleyMYK:
Where does AMD say 90c? I'm interested in seeing them talk about temperatures.

Did you use 3 -pin connector to put on mobo or 4-pin Molex connector?
I read from Max Cooler that Delta fan can draw as much as 4A and most mobo's fan header can't handle that.

 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.

No, I've got it plugged straight into my Abit KT7a-RAID. But I'm going to buy an adapter. I don't want to have problems when everything starts getting a bit older and tireder.

BTW, the ThermoEngine doesn't come standard with the Delta fan, just in case some people think it does.

Cool, thanks. But make it clickable. It saves a little bit of effort. People will like you more.

Second, ya might want to consider filters on you fans as you are in the design process. Trust me, I have dust all over the inside of my case. My ultra sits right in front of one fan and the hs on it are really getting punished.

 on company time....

I already made it a link on the word "clickable", but thanks.

And yes, filters on fans are important. Just make sure you put them on the sucking side, cause you don't want them being stressed all the time.
