AMD isn't good for gaming. The only one I'd bother with is a FX-63xx since it offers good performance for the price. Any more and i'd get an i5. Any less and i'd get a pentium

Highest end one possible? Some FX-8xxx or FX-9xxx I suppose. Which ever your budget can support (with aftermarket cooler too).

for budget gaming system builder..FX 8350 with some decent cooler...will be best..!
it can even beat i5.....
to be honest both have thier own advantages... AMD is good for multi thread performance(series 8 and 6)..intel i5 offers great single thread performance..
you wont be at loss if you go with either one of them..

series 9*** is way to expensive ,AMD series 8*** (probably FX 8350 or 8320,both are excellent overclockers) will do the job..
