What is the Best And Effective Data File Retriever?

I accidentally deleted my files in my flashdrive and i want to retrieve it. what is the best data file retriever to get my files back in my flashdrive and that can't harm my files into it?

ddrescue+testdisk/photorec

make a complete image of the drive with ddrescue then use testdisk to recover deleted files (or photorec)
