Hello everyone !

hope everyones doing great , :)

So , I have been using a DVI- Cable since 2012 on my ASUS VG248QE monitor , and I didn't really know much back then about HDMI cables so I kept it connected with my GTX 780Ti graphic card with the DVI Cable , ,

Now I got more interested in Buying a New Cable for some Better performance maybe but while reading and watching YT, it seems like DP (Displayport 1.4) Cables is the best out there,

My question is Which DP 1.4 Cable I should Buy and will support (connect correctly) with the ASUS VG248QE + GTX 780Ti :S ?

Also I have some options like the links below : https://www.newegg.com/global/ae-en/p/N82E16812399302?Item=9SIA6ZP8RB3670

So , yeah that's all I have I would love to hear more about this matter from you pros & advise me :) .

Thanks a lot for reading ,

Hope you have a great time

Can you select 144Hz with your current DVI cable? If you can, there'll be no difference going Displayport.

DVI cable the monitor came with should be dual link and should be able to set 144Hz. If by chance the cable was replaced or is single link only and not able to set 144Hz, then a DVI D dual link cable will work.

If want a DP cable for the future as DVI is getting harder to find on newer cards then go for a Vesa certified brand such as Accell and Club3D HBR3.

DP ports are backwards compatible.

You will not get better performance with going from DVI to any other connection. By "performance" do you mean "nice looking image"? Keep it connected the way it is, you won't see any difference. Display Port is a newer standard and does some things that DVI can't, like audio and daisy chaining displays, but it won't really make anything faster or look better over DVI.

Well, if he has a single link DVI connection, then that's not entirely true as for gaming that setup wouldn't support 144hz refresh rate. And 144hz refresh rate would definitely "look better" in some circumstances. But yes, if they already have a dual link DVI connection including by way of the cable, then there is not much point in changing unless they plan to add additional displays.
