Hey Guys,

As the title says, what is the best CPU cooler that I can buy for OC'ing an i5 4690k to around 4-4.5Ghz that is under 150mm (my case is a Thermaltake Versa H34).

Thanks in advance!

Not sure what sort of budget you have. If it's a lower budget, maybe consider the cryorig h7. It's 145mm tall, no ram interference, runs around $35usd. I believe it's currently out of stock though.

If you have a bit more budget, might be worth checking out the be quiet dark rock tf. Costs around $70-80 similar to a noctua nh-d14/d-15 with similar cooling at 130mm tall with 51mm ram clearance.

Unfortunately, the Cryorig H7 is out of stock on Newegg... how about the DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 300 or CM Hyper TX3? I will definitely want at least 4.0Ghz on the 4690k so will these coolers hold up even up to 4.2Ghz?

I know, so what kind of specifications should I look for in a cooler that is good for overclocking my i5 4690k to 4.5Ghz? The only ones I have chosen for now are the GAMMAXX 300, Hyper TX3, Hyper T4, Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, GELID Solutions SnowStorm, and Prolimatech Basic 45.

By the way, has anyone here heard of "Prolimatech"? I see it's a Chinese based company but their products on Newegg for the most part have no lower than 4 stars, should I try them out? The CPU coolers I was looking at from them were the Basic 45 and 48 coolers.

I haven't worked with too many of their recent coolers. The megahalems cooler was a real popular one by them. I use their thermal paste and it works really well. The basic coolers are pretty 'basic', more or less a stock replacement. With a budget of under $40 it pretty much negates aio's, with a size restriction cancelling out most of the better budget coolers with 120mm fans it really narrows the choices. Going from a 160mm heatsink and 120mm fan to a smaller heatsink with 92mm fan makes it difficult to get the same performance.

There is one you might consider, the raijentek aidos black. It cools a bit better than the 212 evo and is 137mm tall for around $20 on newegg.
