I know a GTX 950 STRIX isn't an intense graphics card or anything but it's currently being bottle necked by my really old processer.

This list shows what is compatible with my motherboard. I'm looking through it and I cant find one that is even close to a cheap i3... I don't want to go through the hassle of switching motherboards, and installing windows and everything else. Will any of these processors not bottle neck my GPU?
As long as it's not over 150$ im okay with the price.

You're not bothering me at all, you're free to ask as many questions as you'd like :) The i3-6100 would easily outperform the 880k, but the 6100 is limited to two cores. Games like Farcry 4 wouldn't run without a workaround, thought lots of games don't require 4 cores, the 2-cores on a G3258 keep people from buying it over the opposing 860k, with 4 cores (which is slower than it).

It's Fry's, you may be able to find an i3 MOBO there, I would just look around (if it's close by, I'd have to drive for about an hour) or look on the website, if Fry's give you an actual refund (not limited to store credit), then you could look on Amazon or Newegg.

Plus, since it's an LGA1151 socket CPU, you can upgrade into the future with no problem...

It's only a couple of dollars more and they draw the same amount of power, I would say so.

Do you think the a8-8650 is better?

If you didn't have an external GPU and didn't play games, yes, but you do have a GPU. The 860/880k would be the better choices, that's an APU, meaning they charge more for the integrated graphics. The 860/880k don't come with graphics embedded in them.

Okay last question (sorry for bothering so much). Do you think it is worth it to return my motherboard. Get one that is compatible with a i3 6100 and use the product key for my windows to activate it (idk if that's how it works.)

Or just get the 880k. Because the 880k is about $100 on amazon. (83.99+8$ shipping is the lowest price elsewhere) but an i3-6100 is 117$ on amazon... so $17 more?

Also the motherboard can be returned to fry's for $60.. Idk if that's good enough to find an i3 compatible motherboard.

Sorry if this is a lot, you dont have to answer if you don't want too lol. I feel bad.

Someone today told me that the upgrade from mine to an 880k is very slight and wont help. Do you think it will actually make a difference? Because honestly I only need 10 fps better on overwatch and I am set for a while lol.

You haven't mentioned on what CPU/APU you currently have. What do you have?
