So I'm taking the plunge and using my New Egg gift certificates to buy a 37" 1080p Westinghouse LCD. I plan on using it as a multipurpose computer monitor.
Some folks may think this is a bad choice, but I've seen it in action and text is clear and sharp, and as long as you can sit about 3 feet away there is no eye strain. It's great for games as well.
The problem is, my current desk is too shallow at 24". I'm looking for something deep enough (at least 30") so I'm not burning my eyes out on the Westy.
Biormorph, WorkRite and Anthro desks are cool, but I don't want to drop a freaking grand and a half into a desk-- I just had a bunch of foundation work done on my house.
The Ikea Jerker and Gallant desks look like top candidates, but they seem to lack good cable management. Both seem functional at under $200 but I was wondering if anyone knew of something better.
I'm NOT looking for a corner desk, just a standard rectangular jobbie.
I'm not looking ot start a debate over whether using a large LCD for PC work is right or wrong. I'm just looking for desk suggestions.
Any input would be welcome!

Update:
Well, the quest goes on with two likely contenders in the current running.
But first a question for you 37 and 42 inch monitor users out there-- how far do you sit from your monitors?
The biggest problem still remains finding a desk deep enough to comfortably view one. I can find plenty that are wide and adjustable, but when you start looking for a desk more than 26" deep, you start running into problems.
Much against a friend's recommendation, I will not be using the folding table with plastic gutter attached with self tapping screws for cable management, thank you.
I considering the Gallant desk from Ikea. At 30" deep, 64" wide, CPU holder and wire-frame cable management for about $200. A no-frills desk but serviceable, maybe even just functioning as a temp system until something better comes along.
Then there's the Vanguard desk at Office Max. At 34" deep, 70" wide with built-in cable management (you can actually fit a small UPS inside) it's an attractive option with the exception of the $350 price tag and the dark red wood color-- I am looking for blonde maple or birch to match the other furniture in the room. If it was the right color I'd have already snatched it up.
But I'm still looking, so if anybody has any more recommendations-- and I mean SERIOUS recommendations-- please shoot them my way.
Thanks!
