What is the best driver for a graphics card?

hi,
today i installed Visage (a horror game)
When I run it, it showed me a message box saying: update your graphics driver to the latest version(378.92). But i have 388.43 version.

why? Can an older version be better or its just a bug or something?

note: this is a early access game.

I previously saw a site that introduced the driver, which was not the latest version.

Here's the thing....I imagine that the developers of Visage are very familiar with NVidia's driver(s).

I think that if they put a message box in their program that tells you to update the driver...you should update the driver because they wouldn't put that message there for no reason.

It would probably help to know what graphics card and OS you're using, but it's likely just out of date code. If the driver version doesn't match what they have listed as the latest, even if it's newer, it throws up the window.
