Biggest question is what resolution are you gaming at? For 1080p I'd recommend a GTX 1070 Ti, for 1440p at least a GTX 1080, but considering performance in newer games I'd go for an RTX 2070. For 4k, no less than an RTX 2080 considering the fps I've seen in benches.

The Radeon RX 570 could be another good option. Its performance is only around 10-15% behind the RX 580 or GTX 1060 6GB with prices started at around $150 (in the US), if you are looking for a decent budget option that can run the latest games reasonably well at 1080p...

What model of power supply do you have though? You should ideally have about a 500 watt unit with the proper PCIe power connectors for these cards.
