What is the best graphics card I can buy and install on my EVGA 790i Digital PWN FTW motherboard? It is a PCI-e2/8GB RAM

Solution
With a $500 budget, and the parts you already have, you can get something way better.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor ($179.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card ($319.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $579.97
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

You can reuse the 8gb or RAM, hard drives, OS, PSU, and use them with this.

What CPU are you using, and what are the main things that you do on your pc?

Hi Josh. Thanks for the reply.

I have a Intel Core 2 Duo 8400 300GHZ. I primarily play games on the machine and use it for entertainment. I have a 650W power supply too.

What is your upgrade budget?200-500

Thanks Jacob! The ram is a single gb per stick. I thought they were 2gb ram sticks but I was mistaken. That means 4gb of ram. Might it be best to buy 4 8gb ram sticks by Corsair and toss them in the machine? It looks like this new motherboard supports 32 gb of DDR3 ram.

Hmm. 4GB isn't a lot of RAM for gaming nowadays, I would recommend getting 8gb. And unless you are doing some really heavy photo editing, you will never use 32gb of RAM. And if you were doing photo editing, an i5 with a 770 isn't what you would want to buy.
