PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.99 @ NCIX US)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Microcenter)
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V DELUXE ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($267.17 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($43.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital RE2 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($53.78 @...
My base builds usually include the Asus P8Z77 pro ..... step up to the Sabertooth ....step up to the WS (4 GFX cards)

All come in discount combos with the 3570k and 3770k, I'd only use the 3770k if doing video editing or some other app that used HT. With the 7770 tho, both are a bit more processor than ya have GFX to throw at it.

Id move up to the Hyper 612 PWM on Ivy Bridge amd Id cross CM off my PSU options list.

RAM - I like the 1.35 volt corsair units

They go especially nice in this case
