Impossible to answer. Are you talking amd or Intel. Are you talking AM4 or TR4. Are you talking lga1151 or lga2066. Best as in what? The strongest, most cores, fastest, best overclocker, best value, best gaming, best multitasking, best production?

Kinda no different than asking what's the best car. Or is it a truck. Or SUV. Or Crossover...

Oh, that's easy. I7-8700k and any z370 in the more expensive bracket. At those levels, brand is more the selling point than the performance as they are all basically the same. The only differences being the gimmicks like RGB etc.
