I used both of these mice since 2013, and now my g400s seems to be on it's last leg. Wondering what mouse I should buy next. Here are some features I would like the most:

-No software required to use the majority of its features (on g400s you can change DPI in steps of 400 with the buttons on it, but nothing else without software, I believe it defaults to 500HZ)
-No prediction/built in acceleration or any of that BS
-OPTICAL not Laser sensor
-Similar in Size to G400s

Don't really care for too many extra buttons, just a few if any would be enough.

Would prefer to get a logitech, had my razer mice not lasting longer than a year at one point, Both of my logitecs lasted 2 years or more.

Solution
The G402 Hyperion is probably the best of the successors. It has a optical sensor, DPI adjustment on the fly, though I cannot confirm that it can be fully adjusted without software. https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Hyperion-Gaming-Fusion-910-004069/dp/B00LZVNWIA/ref=dp_ob_title_ce

Both of these are also good alternatives:

This is a great alternative:

Solution
As another G400 user and lover who might need a replacement at some point (if the mouse breaks down - worked flawlessly for several years now), I'd like to aks whether the linked mice have about the same size and ergonomics that the G400 offers?

Yes, people purchase the Logitech G402 (very similar size and egonomics), the Steelseries Sensei/Rival 300, Benq ZOWIE and Mionix Naos (laser) as alternatives to the G400.

Purchasing a mouse is a very subjective thing. I would recommend trying one out before making a purchase. At least try to watch a review and see if there are anything about the mouse that you would find irritating.
