I have brought a budget PC to get me though doing assignment work but I also now want to upgrade the Pc to run a few games and be able to do some light video editing. But the only problem is I only have a very limited budget and my current power supply is only 250W.

my current specs are;
AMD Athlon ii x2 215 2.7GHz
nvidia GeForce 7300 LE
4Gb DDR2 Ram 1600MHz
2 HDDs

Does anyone know a card that runs at 25w and is cheap please?
as I know the 7300 LE runs at about 25w

Solution
The best 30w GPU is the GT 1030 and it seems to be powerful.
But even if you had the GT 1030, your CPU is pretty bad and really slow for gaming and video editing would be probably impossible with that old CPU. Also your Ram is too low for 2018 get 8GB ram.
But if you want a powerful GPU that uses low power usage get the GT 1030.

thanks for the quick reply. Yeah I really need to upgrade my Ram and CPu but with this Pc the limit for Ram is 4Gb by the looks of it. If I was to upgrade my CPU to the Athlon ii x2 270 3.4GHz, installed a 500w PSU and installed a HD 7770. would I be close to what I want this Pc to do?

Yes the PSU would be good and the GPU would be even better.
But the problem is still your CPU, have you a overclockable motherboard?
Could u please post your motherboard model?
You can overclock the x2 215 to 3.5GHZ easily and even further to 3.9GHZ but you need a overclockable motherboard.
So you can save money :)

Thanks for your help I think that the best idea is to change the motherboard with the same socket as this so I can overclock the CPU and Then I will upgrade to a better Psu and Gpu. Hopefully upgrading the motherboard will also mean I will be able to get one that I can upgrade the RAM on to more compared to this one.

Thanks again

No problem :)
Get a cheap phenom x2 CPU and a cheap motherboard that unlocks cores, so if you unlock a phenom x2 CPU you get 2 extra cores so you have 4 cores for free and cheap.

Sorry, only just seen this. Ive looked up on CEX and for me a GTX 570 seems a better deal than the GT 730 as its only £8 dearer than it.

Hello only just got round to answering you sorry. I can't find much online about the motherboard but all I can find is that my current CPU uses AM3. Other than that I can not find anything else. So i'm really not sure what CPU's work unless I just try AM3 CPU's?
