Which cpu is best for my motherboard with socket 1511. Do i need to get a better power supply?
Budget of around 200.

Motherboard - b250m vd pro
Gpu - rx580
Cpu - Pentium g4560
Ram - 2x4gb ddr4

Solution
Well, if its really socket 1151 then for around 200 bugs the i5-8400 would be my choice and recommendation.

You should check upfront at the MSI homepage which Bios version is required to support which CPU. Potentially a Bios flash is needed before upgrading.
My psu is 430w evga

The g4560 isn't good for me because it's bottlenecking my rx580.
I upgraded from a gtx1050 to a rx580 and there was little difference because this guy said the cpu was the problem.

Well, why not? What did I miss pls?

EDIT: you are right of course. i5-8400 is an 8th gen CPU even stated as socket 1151. Thanks for correcting me! 🙂

In my opinion an i5 isn’t enough of an upgrade over the g4560 to justify the cost. Both are 4 thread CPU’s, you are just going from 2 core with 4 threads up to 4 cores with 4 threads. Unless you jump up to an i7 you may be disappointed with the performance increase.
