What is the best video card for an intel quad core overclocked?

I have recently aquired an imedia x2415 and a pavilion m8000, both with quad cores 2.4ghz, 8gb RAM and 250w psu. I want to upgrade one for gaming. I'm planning to overclock to >3.0ghz. What is the best graphics card for my rig (without bottlenecking). I do realise I need a bigger psu, will 500w do?

A good quality 500W PSU from XFX, Seasonic or Super Flower will be just fine for most cards, but as asked above, what is your budget?

Hopefully not more than £250 but could stretch to £300 maybe (both video card and psu).
