[SOLVED] What is the best way of powering the GTX 770's 6 pin and 8 pin power inputs from a single 6 pin and 3 spare molex cables from my PSU?

I'm upgrading the GPU in my HP Pavillion h8-1170uk (sorry).

I bought the GTX 1660 only to find out my mobo isn't compatible thanks to the lack of UEFI Bios. With this in mind, I'm trying to find a non-UEFI compatible card that will run on a 460w PSU. I'm also wanting 4GB of GDDR5 for some of the latest games, mid res I know, so I'm currently looking at the GTX 770 4GB.

Should I get a molex adapter to 6 or 8 pin? With a 6 pin molar adapter, I would need to use a 6 to 8 pin adapter for the PCIE cable.

Anything would be really appreciated

If your PSU does not have the proper connections for the desired GPU, you need a new PSU that does have the proper connections.

Do NOT use MOLEX adapters for this.

The card only requires a 450w PSU... what's the worst-case scenario if I did use adapters and it went wrong?
Short the PSU meaning I'd need to get a new one?.. or total system failure?

The possible outcomes are many and varied.

Connectors melted to the GPU
Death of the PSU
In the process of dying, the PSU might take something else with it.

wires melt the insulation, burning plastic ignites and the house follows, worst case scenario.
adapters are notorious for melting.

Often these OEM psu’s are very optimistic in there wattage rating. I would not be surprised if that psu is closer to a 300w than it is 430w.
