So basically imagine a square and the top left corner is my router, and the bottom right corner is my room. Thats my house setup and my room gets some really bad internet.

I tested on speedtest.org on my computer and my speed is great; however, the WiFi signal bars on the task bar has only 2 bars when I connect via the 5g internet. If I use my phone in my room, the internet is just worse.

I recently tried the google nest wifi router with one access point with the access point in my room. My computer has great signal, but speedtest.org has my speed cut in half (I assume it connected to the 2.4ghz band since google wifi doesnt allow dedicated bands) Ping and speed is great for just regular use and in game but when I tried to download games, It is just slower than before.

What is a good wifi mesh system I should use? thank you!

I have Verizon Fios 200mbps up/down and I use a Netgear Nighthawk R7. Tried a Netgear Wifi Extender but connection is inconsistent.

Solution
The best mesh system is not to use one. First best choice is to run Ethernet and if you cannot then consider the other alternatives.

Use either MOCA or a Powerline adapter pair that is at least AV2-1000 or better. On the far end you can either attach an AP or get a PL set that includes wireless capability like THIS or THIS.

I actually can’t run Ethernet, it’s too far Complicated for my house.
I’ll look up powerline adapters. Thank you!
