I don't have alot of change for a graphics card and am waiting for the 390x/980ti to figure itself out.

I do want to play GTA 5 on 1440p at 60fps on ultra.

What is the cheapest, lowest model card that can achieve that?

Current setup:
I5 3470, GTX 560ti 448 cores, 16 gig ram, 250 gb SSD

Solution
I would say that an AMD R9 280x or an Nvidia 960 would be the cheapest you could get to run it decently.

I'm using a 280X and I have it running at mostly high settings, ultra shadows with FXAA, x4 MSAA = 40-70FPS @ 1080p

some people are having a hard time getting 60fps at 1080p with a 290/x/970, i doubt it for 1440p

#29!!!

Always always alway got a 'can I run it' questions, then GO TO

WWW.CANIRUNIT.COM and look for yourself. The RECOMMENDED hardware is what will make the game 'like I saw on youtube'. If you don't have it then NO it won't play like you saw on youtube. You can either PAY TO PLAY (PC Gaming is expensive) or settle for a PS4 which then you will never have to ask this question again

FYI Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 2GB / AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB is the recommended minimum which are still over $250 cards.

The problem with this is it doesnt answer my question.

There is nothing on Can I run it that tells you which resolution runs what. My question is specific to a resolution.

Look at benchmarks,

the point of me politely pointing to it is the problem your having "I do want to play GTA 5 on 1440p at 60fps on ultra. "
can NOT be achieved with your hardware ( GTX 560ti) that you can SEE FOR YOURSELF I wasn't posting BS to you
But that ALSO the GTX 560ti is NOT CAPABLE to play the game at any resolution (aka it won't play).
You COULD try down to 1024x768 Low graphics and MAYBE get some 10s but they dont' even suggest your hardware is capable (you need at LEAST a 660) to do that.

Note those BENCHMARK links do NOT show any GTX 560ti because it can't run it.

Relax, he was asking what card he can get to play gta v at ultra 1440p 60fps, not if his 560ti will do it.

■ My Rig is a couple of years old

i7 3820, R9 290 in crossfire, 24gb ram, 500gb SSD, 2TB HDD

Theres is a lot of stuttering with crossfire config, but I get an easy 60FPS+ and average around 70FPS in 1440p

With one R9 290 I'm getting around 40-50fps average which is decent

If you want a good bang for buck get a 290 or 290X, but IMO settle for a GTX 970 or above. The new nvidia cards run quiet, are more power efficient and generate less heat in your case.
