What Is The Cheapest Way to Upgrade My PC to be VR Ready

Just wondering what a cheap way to upgrade my motherboard, CPU and RAM for, Also I am fine with AMD or Intel although I would prefer Intel for later upgradability
My PC Specs Are
CPU - AMD FX 8320 3.5 Ghtz
GPU - Gygabyte GTX 1080
RAM - 8 Gigs DDR3
Mobo - ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
PCU - 800w Corsair
SSD - 250 GB
HDD - Two 1 TB 7200 rpm

I mainly just need to upgrade the 3 things I specified but the cpu really bottlenecks when gaming for my 1080

In that case i'd go with intel since for games they always seem to be a bit better optimised than amd get an i5-8600k or i7-8700k, 16gb DDr4 3000mhz and perhaps this? GIGABYTE Z370P D3 I'm not sure what your budget is but that'd definitely give your GTX 1080 a kick
