What is the CPU?

Hello. When i run loads of programs, in the windows task manager theres a CPU number that fills up the more stuff i have running. Now, i'm not really satisfied with the amount of programs i can have running at once, so i am looking to uprgade. So what is CPU, and wich can you guys recommend me? Im kinda on a budget, but i am also looking for some power.
Here are my specs:
(Graphics card: MSI GTX 760 TwinFrozr 2GD5)

(Processor: Intel Core i5-4460)

(RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 2x4GB)

(Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC Mate)

(Power supply: FSP 600W 88+ Silver)

Your task manager will tell you which programs are using what resources. List the programs that are using the most.

Your PC should be able to do most tasks unless you are doing something crazy or have malicious software installed.

Hello again. I found out the RAM i use is DDR3, PC3-14900 and 240 pin. Is there any mainstream brands you can recomend? i really have no idea what and how to look for stuff like this

your best option for success is to sell your current sticks of ram and just buy 16 gigs of gskill or crucial ram.

if you want to buy another set of 2x4 then you would really want to find a set that is the same model as you currently have

when trying to add ram allot of issues can arise and if you do not want to try and troubleshoot and set them up in the bios the best option is to buy a new set. I would never expect to buy new ram and have them just work when adding to already installed ram.

so you can buy another set of 2x4 of the exact same ram you have and hope they work or that you can set them up to work in bios or you can buy a 2x8 new set and know they will work and sell the old pair.
