Sorry about that! Here are the specifications of the program, Virtual Dj, that i am going to be using:
The minimum requirement to run Virtual DJ is:

* PIII 850 MhZ computer
* 1024x768 SVGA video
* DirectX compatible soundcard
* 512 MB RAM
* 20 MB free on the hard-drive

RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS

The recommended configuration is:

* PIV 3 GhZ computer
* 1024x768 SVGA video
* 4.1 DirectX compatible soundcard (with front and rear separate outputs)
* 1024 MB RAM
* 200 MB free on the hard-drive

I basically just want to know which processor would be the best at handling the multitasking that i am going to be using the computer for. Oh, and i dont know if this helps any but i do have a budget of preferably $500 but i am willing to spend $700 if need be! Thanks Maziar!

he means what laptops are you looking at?

the short answer though, is that an i3/i5 will outperform a core2duo clock for clock. but if the core 2 duo has a significantly higher clockspeed, it may be the better option. so we need to knwo exactly what you are looking at.

well of those, the best choice is the 'HP Pavilion dv4-2160us 14.1" Widescreen Notebook Computer With Intel® Core™ i5-430m '

the i5 430m is the strongest processor of the bunch, and given what you do i would say its worth paying extra for. make sure you get some extra ram too. ram ius very cheap these days so getting 4gb shouldn't be an issue, but will help you out alot.
