The VS239H-P is superior. It has a 178/178 viewing angle.
The IPS panel will be of higher quality.
Buy the best monitor you feel comfortable paying for.
You will be looking at it for a long time.

I personally would go with:

It is LED backlit, the other isnt (that is the #1 reason for LCD failure, the backlight fails).
Higher brightness per cm/^2.

It's a newer design then the other.

I have the VE model right now but it has a stuck pixel and I will be going back to the store with it anyway. I think the picture is ok, but it is really subjective.

Hey I have the VS239H-P model, it's very very very good!! It's very good for gaming, it has a response time of 5ms! They made a mistake before of labeling it as a 12ms monitor. I saw this monitor side by side with another one in a computer shop, and this is superior. BUY IT!!
