What Is The Difference Between These Hard Drives?

Solution
as far as I can see, mypassport has optional data encryption as extra.
besides that, same interface, same storage space, and physical size is about same too.
Also mypassport thing has WD backup software included
Hey there, stl522013!

@Little_me is right. The difference between these two portable externals is only in the software they incorporate. Both drives share the same fast USB 3.0 transfer rate and deliver on that performance.
The WD My Passport, however, as already mentioned incorporates a hardware encryption and password protection for extra safety of your data against theft. This model also comes in different colors and with the pre-installed WD Backup, WD Security and WD Drive Utilities software.
Whereas the WD Elements portable HDD is a blank ready-for-use drive for your backup data. You can also install some WD software on it, similar to the ones in the WD My Passport.

This is as far as the differences between these two WD models go.
You can also check the Comparison list of all WD Portable HDDs.

Hope this was helpful. Keep me posted if you have more questions! :)
