So I'm looking to buy a monitor and I don't understand what the difference between these two monitors are and why one is $100+ more than the other. Here are the two monitors:
ASUS ROG Swift PG278QR vs ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279Q. I appreciate any response.

Main differences of
Asus PG278QR vs
Asus PG279Q:
1.
Panel Type:
TN vs
IPS
2.
Viewing Angle:
170°(H)/160°(V) vs
178°(H)/178°(V)
3.
Response Time:
1ms vs
4ms
4.
Speakers:
None vs
2x 2W Stereo (
not really a deciding factor as monitor speakers are not good)
Depends on what you will use the monitor for, the
PG278QR (TN, 1ms) is more appropriate for
gaming (particularly, fast-paced competitive games) where color accuracy is not as important as response time.
On the other hand, the
PG279Q (IPS, 4ms) is usually geared towards editors, graphic artists, et. al., where
color accuracy (less saturation, more consistent, larger viewer angle) is more important. However, it is also important to note that some IPS monitor units do exhibit distracting backlight bleeding / IPS glow (depending on how bad the bleeding is on a particular unit).
