Solution
The problem that you may face is that DDR3 modules don't always like to work together in dual, tri or quad channels. Tradesman explains it well, if you pull 10 consecutive RAM sticks off a production line, 4 might work together and will go into a 4 module pack, the rest will go in 1 or 2 module packs as they won't work together. So even though these RAM modules are from the same brand, have the same timings and look to be made with the same production methods just different heat sinks, there is still no guarantee that they will work in dual channel and quite likely that they won't.

Hi, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support and would like to offer our assistance. Mixing memory is generally not a good idea since different models will most likely be made from different components which can cause conflicts especially when overclocking. Even getting the same part number at a later time can be problematic since as time goes on different DRAM chips or other components may be used to make the same memory. In order for memory to work properly together in dual, triple or quad channel they need 100% identical. We package identical memory modules in kits for this purpose. Most of the time if you purchase multiple individual modules at the same time from the same place they will also be identical. To be certain the memory will work together it would be best to get a matched pair. For any further assistance, please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available Technician will assist you.

Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.
