What is the Difference here? R9 390...

Greetings! I recently purchased an XFX R9 390 from BestBuy. Best decision of my life.
I was going to review it on Newegg when i noticed something...

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/xfx-amd-radeon-r9-390-8gb-gddr5-pci-express-3-0-graphics-card-black-gray/8278117.p?id=1219690434699&skuId=8278117
I purchased an R9-390A-8DFR
That is what the box says, and what my warranty online states i have.

But on Newegg i see this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150728&cm_re=xfx_r9_390-_-14-150-728-_-Product
It says it is a Black Edition... R9-390P-8286

Looking further i see yet another with no Black Edition mentioned.. R9-390P-8256
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150729&cm_re=xfx_r9_390-_-14-150-729-_-Product

What is going on here? Which one do i have? I haven't spent too much time with it but i haven't seen it hit 1015 or 1050, usually always under 1000.

Did i pay Black Edition prices for a non Black Edition?
Any information on this would be very helpful.

From what it looks like XFX Has many skus for essentially the same card. When they build the chipsets for these cards they can max out at different speeds, so based on the batches of chips sometimes that makes different skus. As well some skus are based upon the AMD reference card (normally but in the case of the 3 series there is no reference chipsets). What you have is the core edition. Normally the core does not have the voltage unlocked, so its not as overclockable, that said sometimes it is unlocked anyway (this is straight from XFX after I complained about my "Unlocked voltage" R9 280 being locked). The black editions are the higher grade chips that have higher fault tolerances, generally they run a little faster and are...

The short version is yes you paid BE prices for a non BE card. Best Buy is the worst place to buy computer stuff Newegg is always cheaper.

Those bastards!
A note for the ether...
It IS unlocked.
I can increase voltage and clock by %
I can select a ram clock via slider.

Best buy matches Newegg - it was MY fault for showing them the wrong card on my phone at checkout!
IF i had shown them the correct card they would have given me the correct credit 🙁

OH WELL! now i get to talk to customer service about my $20. Totally worth it -_-

I just purchased one for $326 from best-buy and I couldnt be happier. They have the best price of anywhere online. I had a $100 BB gift card so imagine how happy I am to get this kind of performance out of a card I bought for <250.

This card is unlocked and most importantly it comes with a LIFETIME WARRANTY.

It's a bit noisy under heavy load but stays under 60c. Plays Battlefront amazingly well. Im really just blown away coming from an older GTX680.

It is big and did not fit in my older Sonata mid tower case. I had to drill out a few rivet heads and remove a bracket to get it in comfortably.

I havent used an AMD product since my 9700Pro but this card shines compared to the 4gb gtx970 on a multi monitor rig.
