What is the diffrence between SRAM and DRAM?

As far as I know that DRAM is the widely using RAM for PCs and workstations. And Static RAM is typically used for cache memory, which can be accessed more quickly than DRAM. But still I can't understand the which is better and why. Can someone briefly explain me what are DRAM and SRAM and which one is better.

Well:

SRAM is static, DRAM is dynamic. SRAM is faster than DRAM. SRam consumes less power than DRAM. The SRAM uses more transistors per bit of memory than dram (it would make it better). But SRAM = more money than DRAM. DRAM is used for your "main memory" and sram is used for your cache memory

Thanks, the only thing I need to know what is the cache memory?

Cache memory is used by the CPU to make certain operations faster. It reduces the time it takes for the CPU to access the memory. It stores memory data from your most used memory locations. Its basically smaller, faster memory for operations you do a lot. When you buy a high end CPU you have more cache available to make those operations faster.

Hope this makes sense to you sometimes its hard to put it in words and in english hehe
